September 1 — DANVILLE – The Danville Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce its 2021-22 season following its recent partnership with the Vermilion Heritage Foundation and the historic Fischer Theater.
Maestro Jeremy Swerling returns to lead the DSO for a new three-performance series at the historic Fischer Theater that will give you the sheer energy of the Roaring Twenties and beyond at 7:30 pm on October 2; warm up your December with a Sinatra-style Christmas Swingin ‘at 3 p.m. on December 5; and experience an exploration of Dvorak’s masterpiece New World Symphony as well as Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 performed by Danville’s Tom DeTorres at 7:30 p.m. on March 12.

In addition to the three-show series at the Fischer, the DSO is excited to present Stars of the Silver Screen at the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium at Danville High School at 7:30 p.m. on April 30. This performance is an event carried over from the previous season interrupted by the pandemic. For anyone who already holds tickets for this show, your original tickets will be honored. The DSO looks forward to the opportunity to finally welcome you to this night of cinematic magic.
The DSO has already started renewing the subscriptions of its existing subscribers with the help and partnership of the Fischer Theater, and would like to alert the public that it will begin to open the sale of subscriptions to the three-show Fischer Theater series as early as September. . 1, and single ticket sales for the remaining seats on September 15.
